Team rides

Team rides meet at Recycled Cycles’ Boat St. shop on Saturday mornings at 9:00 a.m, from November through February. Prospective team members may join any ride on a drop-in basis; however, please check in with us before the ride begins. Come prepared with food, drink, a pump, a spare tube and cash for coffee. Helmets are required on RCR team rides, so don’t forget yours!

If you’re unsure about your riding ability, ask the ride leader what the day’s distance and terrain will be. Don’t be afraid to bail out early if you’re worried about making it back.

The Boat St. shop is located just southwest of the UW.

Hi my name is Peter Huelle. I’m trying to find a good team to join here in seattle and going off the websites I seem to be having trouble getting to know the teams we have here.
I really enjoyed your website and it felt welcoming and more approachable for me personally.
This would be my first team joining and Ofcourse want to make sure I’m qualified…is there a time table I can look at that goes over the team ride distances and paces? Or someone that could give me more info? Thanks for your time!

Hi Peter, good to hear from you. Glad you like RCR’s little website.

Most Seattle racing clubs, RCR included, have formal “Meet the Team” rides in September and October. If you haven’t already, you should sign up for WSBA’s email list (wsbaracing.com/mailman/listinfo/wsba) to get updates on those as they get scheduled. These rides are a good way to get your head around what each club offers.

RCR is a racing-focused club (not all clubs require its members to race), so one of our only qualifications is that you want to race your bike. If you don’t want to wait until September, come out to a bike race and talk to one of us! We’re a pretty friendly bunch, and we have racers in multiple disciplines (road, track, CX, MTB).

Hope to see you on our Meet the Team ride, if not sooner.

Jacob
