RCR track report – more medals

9 09 2013

Recycled Cycles Racing continues to be a force to be reckoned with this season at the Marymoor Velodrome.

August 30

Ian Schmidt rode away with a BIG W in the Cat 3 Antiquena (points race in the front, miss-and-out in the back – the mullet of track racing!). Schmidt raked in second in the night’s Omnium. Meanwhile Nate Pitts & Rory Jack were consistently throwing down in the Elites field, with Pitts bringing home 4th and Jack 8th for the Omnium.

September 6

Ian Schmidt, who’s absolutely on fire as he heads to Colorado Springs to represent UW for the 2013 Collegiate Track National Championship, found himself ON THE TOP STEP OF THE PODIUM (and looking fabulous) for the WA State Champs points race (Cat 3). Schmidt capped the night off by winning the Omnium.

[Edit: This pic – which is better than the previous one – comes from Nick Solheim‘s FB. He took silver – nice one Nick.]

And Nate Pitts & Rory Jack again threw down hard in the Elites: Pitts snagged 3rd place in the State Champs points race, with Jack right behind in 4th! Masters State Champ Rob McDaniel rode his way into the top 10 as well.

Just a couple more nights of track remaining in the season, but there’s little doubt that RCR will make them count.

Awesome job, guys…and please be more respectful on the podium, Ian. I’m a little embarrased for ya.
Note to team…top picture, wrong at every level. Bottom picture…perfect.
