Recycled Cycles Racing is hosting this weekend’s Meet the Team ride on Saturday, November 14th.

The team says: "Come for a ride with us!"

We are a smaller team, but the percentage of our members who suit up, pin a number on, and appear on the starting line is high. Our members compete regularly in road, track, mountain, and cyclocross racing. Each year we promote the Brad Lewis Memorial Criterium, and we are looking forward to our race being a part of the new Seattle Speed Week criterium series.

The usual Meet the Team rules apply:
Where:
Leschi, in front of Pert’s Deli.
When:
Arrive between 9:00 and 9:30 to meet people without helmets and sunglasses on.
Roll out at 9:30 for a no-drop ride around the south end of Lake Washington.
What to bring:
A helmet. A bicycle in good working order, equipped with fenders with a spray flap if it is raining, looks like rain, or you heard that somewhere in the Puget Sound region there is a chance of rain.  A spare inner tube. A dollar or two for coffee. A good attitude.

The Numbers Don’t Lie

Racing is so much more than numbers. It’s long miles in the winter. It’s spontaneous city limit sprints. It’s the loan of an inner tube when you flat, for the second time, 50 miles from home. It’s hanging out on the couch after one hundred miles in the brilliant February sunshine, watching whatever video we could find under the cushions. Racing is the experience we share every time we saddle up to cruise around Lake Washington or, as we did so many sweet times this summer, work together to put the rest of the field on the defensive and in the pain cave.
